Where do the exchange rates come from, and how often are they updated?
Rates are fetched from the public ExchangeRate-API endpoint (open.er-api.com), which typically updates once a day. Fresh data is loaded when you open the page or switch currencies, and the current rate is displayed as 1 unit of the source currency in the target currency.
Can I use the results for actual transactions?
The tool shows mid-market reference rates. Banks and payment providers usually add a spread and fees, so the rate you actually get will differ slightly. Use the results for estimates and comparisons, and rely on your bank's live quote for real transactions.
